Introducing - The doggy dream team
If you know EMILY and NICK even just a little bit you will know that they truly are Barking Mad…… about dogs (well, all animals really).
Emily and Nick are a husband and wife duo who, along with their fur-babies; Pepper the Mini Schnauzer, Rusty-Roo the Cavoodle, Starling the Australian Shepherd, Nelly the Pomeranian, Mimosa and Bellini the cats, about 30 chooks and sometimes some sheep, live and work from their lifestyle block in Luggate, just 12 minutes easy drive from the centre of Wanaka.
Emily began her grooming career back in 2011. She trained Nick up to join her in 2018 after he retired from working as a fully qualified Early Childhood Teacher. They both have a strong life and professional philosophy of CARE, KINDNESS, and RESPECT.
Emily and Nick live and breath all things dog. When they aren’t in the grooming salon or out walking a pack of dogs on the tracks, you will find them; practicing dog agility, adventuring with their own fur-babies, hanging out at one of towns scrumptious cafes or working on a project at their small holding.
Emily and Nick treat and love every dog they work with just like one of their own. This dog crazy duo can’t wait to to meet you and your fur-babies!
Emily - Alpha FEmale
Emily is our Alpha Female, senior stylist, and canine communicator extraordinaire. Beginning her grooming career here in Wanaka in 2011, Emily is your experienced technical groomer.
Emily specializes not only in technical cuts, such as the Schnauzer and Poodle cut but also has a passion for puppy grooming and helping nervous dogs overcome their grooming fears.
Emily just loves dog grooming and prides herself on not only giving the best hair cut around, but the kindest and most loving grooming experience for your dog.
You will also see Emily out hitting the tracks on our dog walks but you won’t see her running unless something is chasing her!
Not only that, but Emily has trained with Animal Behaviour Superstar, Mark Vette, and passionately practices and advocates for treating and training dogs the ‘Zen’ way.
Young or old. Fluffy or smooth. Big or small. Emily loves them all!
Nick - Pack Leader
Nick is our Pack Leader, senior stylist, master of dog walking, and fur-dog-rapher (dog photographer). He specializes in tricky nail trimming, and wrangling the BIG dogs.
Nick is an ex-early childhood teacher who has infinite patience and a calm, gentle presence that even the most nervous of dogs respond to.
Nick is a passionate student of behaviour and psychology, whether dog, child, adult, or animal. And with many years applying this passion as a teacher, easily transfers his skills to the salon.
Nick is super fit and just loves running. And he loves running and walking even more when it is with your dog!
Nick’s passion and enthusiasm are contagious, and he is such an asset to our pack.
